Lt. Lacy joined the regiment in August of 1862. He resigned in July of 1863, but never returned home. To this day, it is not known what happened to him. During his service with the 8th Tennessee Cavalry, Lt. Lacy wrote several letters to his family and gave no indication that he would not return. Further information can be found on Lt.
